DESCRIPTION
The OilCheck detects and measures the dielectric constant of an oil. By comparing the measurements obtained from used and unused oils of the very same brand, the OilCheck is able to determine the degree of change in the oil’s dielectric constant. Dielectric change is directly related to the degradation and contamination level of the oils and helps the user to optimize intervals between oil changes and to detect increased mechanical.
To facilitate trending the instrument is equipped with a numerical readout. Occurrence of water, anti-freeze, metal particles would all have an instant influence of the dielectric change. Oxidation or build-up of acids would have a more moderate influence of the dielectric constant and so would fuel soot, sludge, dirt and petro/diesel fuel. The unit comes in a pouch and is supplied with a battery.
- Shows changes in oil condition affected by such things as: Water content, Fuel contamination, Metallic content, Oxidation
- Hand held and user friendly
- Numerical read-out to facilitate trending
Warning The SKF OilCheck is not an analytical instrument. It is an instrument to detect only changes in the oil condition. The visual and numerical read-outs are purely a guide to enable trending of the comparative readings of a good oil to a used oil of the same type and brand.
