Cable length meter provides a quick and easy way to determine how much wire is left on spool; no more running out of wire on job
Can be used to measure wire length in an existing conduit run by shorting two conductors at one end, connecting to other end and dividing by two
Milliohm measurement capability
Uses kelvin clips for high accuracy measurements
Built-in temperature compensation circuit takes into account temperature automatically for true cable length readings
Comes with copper calibration bars for automatic calibration, abrasive pads to remove oxidation, and a rugged carrying case for meter protection
Cable length meter measures copper and aluminum cables: covers major wire gauges
Wire size: 26 ga – 4/0 ga; 22 pre-set wire gauge settings; 250MCM- 500MCM in five settings
Measures from 15 to 30,000 feet of cable
Measuring Wire Sizes not stored in memory:
If using an odd wire size the attached will work. If a non-standard wire is used you can establish a factor to use, then multiply the measured resistance by this factor. An example follows:
1. Cut a 50' section of wire
2. Measure the resistance using the ohms range of the CLM100
3. Divide 1 by that measured resistance
4. Multiply the result by 50'
This give you the factor to then use on unknown length. Multiply the measured resistance by this factor, and the result is your wire length.
