The HT-5000P is a laboratory tester allowing precise adjustment of the test dwell time and
leakage current trip level using the front panel meter.
Output is up to 5000Vac @ 10mA and up to 6000Vac @ 5mA. Current trip point, ramp time
and test time are controlled by defeatable rear panel potentiometers.
The HT-5000P uses the separate high frequency transformer circuit to detect and report
dielectric breakdowns, even low-level arcing events that do not conduct enough current to trip
the leakage current circuit. This is of benefit to ensure that any problems with the insulation
system are being found, even the small ones.
The tester is built in a rugged, good-looking benchtop enclosure. It is light and portable.
Upon a failure, a buzzer sounds and the high voltage output is terminated for safety. Red
lights on the front panel indicate the failure mode.
